A funeral for Henry William Adolf of Northeast Portland will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will be inRose City Cemetery .

He died of congestive heart failure Sunday in a Portland care center. Mr. Adolf was 94.

He was born May 6, 1899, in Yamhill County and was raised and schooled in the Newberg area. As a young man, he farmed with his father. He married Edith Bowman in 1935.

Mr. Adolf had been employed as a structural iron worker for many years and also worked in the elevator installation business. He retired in 1969. Mr. Adolf had been a member of Peace Lutheran Church since 1923. His wife died in 1979.

Survivors include his nephews, Herbert J. of Newberg, Robert of Buhl, Idaho, and Arthur of American Falls, Idaho; and his nieces, Leona Waide of Newberg, Lorene Utt of Kanab, Utah, and Amanda Sherman of Kimberly, Idaho.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Peace Lutheran Church building fund.
