Tammie Victoria McAuley, 86, of West Columbia, Texas, passed away June 6, 2002, at Plantation Healthcare Center in Lake Jackson.

She was born January 7, 1916, in Thornton, Texas, to John William Cundieff and Mary Elizabeth Waid Cundieff. She was married April 9, 1939, to Travis Reginald McAuley. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Tammie loved her family and her church. She took pride in service to her church and was especially committed to working with young people, graciously seizing many such opportunities throughout her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of West Columbia and of West Columbia Chapter 705 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Travis; her parents; and many friends and family members.

She is survived by her three children: daughter, Reva Harris and husband Frank of Lake Jackson; son, Travis McAuley and wife Marilyn of Corryton, Tenn.; and son, Larry McAuley and wife Lynn of Angleton. Also survived by eight grandchildren: Vicki Hluza and husband Brian; Anita Champagne and husband Jonathan; Donna Lynch and husband Randy; Bryan McAuley and wife Amanda, Tonya McAuley, John Harris and wife Miranda, Rhonda McAuley and Robert McAuley; and 10 great-grandchildren: Tasha Morehead, Drew Morehead, Tiffany Bryan, Shea Bryan, Anna Champagne, Jordan Cham-pagne, Zoe McAuley, Emily Lynch, Piper McAuley and Savannan Harris; sisters-in-law, Vera Cundieff Finley of Sweeny and Adel McAuley Watson of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A resilient and caring woman who loved her family and in return was deeply loved, Tammie will be missed by many whose lives she touched.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2002, at First Baptist Church of West Columbia with the Rev. David Barclay officiating, with internment to follow at Cedar Lawn.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday June 8, 2002, at Baker Funeral Home.

Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

With the night, Godspeed, comes peace.
