Katheryn Callahan Kincer, age 93, of Wytheville, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016. She was the daughter of the late John B. and Lydia Copenhaver Callahan and a longtime member of Mt. Ephriam United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Kincer; daughter, Teddi Kincer Yates; sisters, Irene Holliday, and Helen Akers; and brother, J. W. Callahan. She is survived by daughters and sons in law, Jean and Danny Musser of Rural Retreat, and Sherry and William Dix of Rural Retreat; son in law, David Yates of Liberty, N.C.; brother and sister in law, Ted and Maude Callahan of Bristol, Tenn.; sisters in law, Clara Callahan, and Naomi Suthers, both of Wytheville, and Margret Kincer of Blackstone, Va.; brother in law, Kenneth Kincer of Chester, Va.; granddaughters, Lori Ann and Steve Ryan, Jr. of Rural Retreat, Danielle and Ricky Skeens of Wytheville, Amy and Terry Davis of Wytheville, and Brooke Dix and Hugh Cochran of Holly Springs, N.C.; great grandchildren, Trey Skeens, Reid Skeens, Camden Skeens, Nolan Ryan, and Alexis Ryan; special friend, Mozelle Hounshell of Wytheville, several neices, nephews, and extended family members along with a host of friends. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Mt Ephriam United Methodist Church, conducted by Pastor Steve Alderman with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Mt Ephriam Cemetery Fund, 1003 Crockett Road, Crockett, VA 24323.
