CORMIER, ABBE Abbe J. Cormier, 75, of Danbury passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Abbe, son of the late Aurele and Odila Cormier, was born in Barachois, NB, Canada on April 7, 1941. He attended school in Barachois and served in the Royal Canadian Navy. In 1962, he moved to the United States and began his own hardwood flooring business, Abbe's Hardwood Floors. He later became an owner and partner of Kent Floors in Danbury, CT. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Gulla) Cormier, to whom he was married for 50 years. He also leaves his two sons, Michael and his wife Jennifer, and Philip and his wife Shannon; five grandchildren, Christina, Brittany, Alyssa, Cassandra, and Meghan; seven siblings, Gary, Leo, Josette, Rosario, Guy, Frank, and Roland; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the kind and thoughtful caregivers, staff, and volunteers at Regional Hospice and Home Care (Western CT, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT).
