When Susan Tress Flynn walked into the room, those in her company felt her energy, and enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Sue was and how she impacted those around her.

Sue was born on June 22, 1940 at People's Hospital in Akron, Ohio. She was the daughter of Tracy and Bertha Pittenger and sister to one older brother, Tommy. When she was in elementary school, the Pittenger family moved to Winter Park, Florida. Sue often shared her fond memories and funny stories of growing up in Winter Park. Always at the ready with a good joke, she grew up to be quite a humorous person.

Sue was very accepting and supportive of her family. She was perceived as the central person in her family in terms of keeping communication open between the family members. Sue's wit, outgoing personality, and understanding of others, drew the admiration of many who knew her. You could always count on Sue to crack a joke to make you smile.

On September 4, 1965 Sue married Richard Raymond Flynn in front of friends and family at St. Margaret Mary Church of Winter Park, FL. Sue and Richie started their own family in Los Angeles and a few years later moved to Thousand Oaks, Ca. Sue's skill at “building bridges” played an important role in her ability to make her new family happy. She was quite sensitive towards Richie's needs, showing her constant concern and fondness. Sue was tenderhearted and sensitive, qualities that served her well in helping to nurture her family.

Sue was a natural and creative parent who was willing to provide her family with all sorts of new and interesting experiences. For Sue, parenting was a particularly enjoyable and pleasurable part of her life. Sue was blessed with three children: two daughters, Tracy and Kelly, and one son, Kevin. They were also blessed with three grandchildren, Meghan, Ali and Trevor.

Sue's primary occupation was pricing analyst for Northrop Grumman. She also worked as a flight attendant for National Airlines and a reservations agent for Western Airlines.

Because Sue loved to have a broad variety of activities in her life, she took advantage of the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were knitting, reading and puzzles.

Throughout her life, Sue was actively involved in professional and community organizations. She was compassionate and accommodating. Those who had the opportunity to work with Sue usually agreed that when you were involved in an organization with her, it was as entertaining as anything you could imagine. Throughout her later years, Sue was an active member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Epiphany Episcopal Church.

Sue was a woman who was dedicated and devoted to her faith. She was a member Epiphany Episcopal Church. She was sympathetic and able to empathize with others and she used these qualities to the fullest while working tirelessly for her beliefs.
