Funeral services for Mr. A.B. Roby, Sr., 85, of Oklahoma City will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2003 in The Chapel of the Resthaven Funeral Home of Oklahoma City with Reverend Alvin Garrison officiating. A.B. Roby, Sr. was born January 4, 1918 in Sallis, Mississippi the son of John W. and Suzanne (Jenkins) Roby. He passed away Thursday, March 27, 2003 in Oklahoma City. A.B. was a retired mechanical contractor, operating his own business, the OU Plumbing Company for 30 years before retiring in 1980. He served in the United States Army during World War II before being honorably discharged in 1942. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason and was active in many other civic organizations and duties. He is survived by Ruby; two sons, Aubrey Roby, Jr. of Newcastle and Russell Roby and his wife Lois of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Cale Roby of Oklahoma City and David Roby and his wife DeeAnn also of Oklahoma City; three great grandchildren, Joe Roby, Stephanie Roby and Karlie Roby all of Oklahoma City; one brother, Carlis Roby of Jackson, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Burial will conclude in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of the Resthaven Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.
