She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Harley and Francis Shouse and Emmet Irl and Cecil Hauk, and infant sister Teresa Hauk.
1963 graduate of Coal Creek High School.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in 1966 and a master’s degree in 1970 in elementary education from Indiana State University, Terre Haute.
She was an elementary school teacher at Newtown and New Market, and had also taught at Prairie Grove and McHenry schools in the Chicago Northwest suburbs.
Member of Montgomery County Indiana 4-H Beef Association.
