Son of Sgt. John Fadden, of Canton, Ma. and Alburg, Vt, by his wife, Catherine. Husband of Elizabeth Taylor. "Aged 85 years"

Andrew, have found your information on the Faddens very useful, thanks. However, James Fadden of Caldwell Manor is the son of Sgt. John Fadden and Catherine Vanderwerken, not Mary Billings. On 18 July 1837, James made a deposition in support of his mother's pension application -- Catherine Vanderwerken. John Fadden apparently abandoned Mary Billings when he went to Albany and married Catherine Vanderwerken in Dec 1778. I have no idea of what happened to son John of Mary Billings. I do know she eventually remarried. I know you have posted information on many people, so this may not make your radar, but wanted to let you know. I can provide a copy of James's deposition. In 1991, I also personally viewed, transcribed and copied the original page from the Fadden bible that was attached to James' deposition. It is in the National Archives in Washington. Sincerely, John Griener h/o a John Fadden descendant.
