Ruby Lee Riggs Caughman Hathaway, of De Leon, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the age of 85.

She was born June 22, 1930, in Desdemona to Edney Newton Riggs and Ethel Brown Riggs.

Ruby lived in many different places during her life. She loved to travel and see new places. She worked for Tarleton State University for many years as a secretary and she was also a nurse for many years. She loved that nursing provided her the opportunity to help people. She was a member of First Baptist Church of De Leon. Ruby loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Diane Miller and Paula Barnes and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Terra Jobe and husband, Jackson, Kendall Brinson and husband, Jason, Rance Barnes and wife, Breanna, and Cody Miller and wife, Cheryl; brother, James Riggs and wife, Freda; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husbands, W.D. Caughman and Charles Hathaway; parents, Edney and Ethel Riggs; and sisters, Laura Hooper, Almarie Fox and Hazel Koonce.
