Bobby Achemire, 76, of Wellington went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family in Wellington, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Hillside Baptist Church in Wellington. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 12:00 until 8:00 P.M. with the family present form 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Alva Municipal Cemetery in Alva, Oklahoma. Memorials have been established with the Wellington Fire Department and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Department and may be left with the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington. Arrangements are pending with Shelley Family Funeral Home of Wellington. Bobby Lee Achemire was born on April 20, 1939 the son of Lester and Leota (Lyons) Achemire in Alva, OK. He graduated from Alva High School and attending Northwester College. On October 13, 1987 Bob was united in marriage to Elaine Gamble in Wellington, KS. He worked for Booth Plumbing and Chew Plumbing. Bob enjoyed woodworking, reading, genealogy and spending time with his family. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Elaine of the home; children: Lester Achemire, Charles Achemire, Bertha White and husband Luke, Ruby Achemire, Ruby Klick and Lucy “Dink” Brewer, stepsons: Virgil Giddings Jr. and wife Linda and Albert Giddings; 29 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tommy Phil Achemire, and two grandchildren: Coltin White and Houston Giddings.
