Most of these children lived as adults in the same general area of St. Genevieve, Jefferson, or St. Francois County; or the City of St. Louis, Missouri.

A 1878 news report about her father Austin Ferguson, stated: Austin Ferguson, living near Rush Tower, killed a very large wolf one day about two weeks ago, and on the following day he saw another but did not have his gun with him at the time. It was after his sheep. He thinks he will be able to find the den and secure the young ones. Another news story said: Austin Ferguson recently found a den of wolves in Jefferson County, shot and severely if not fatally wounded a grown wolf and captured 6 young ones, which parties down there are trying to raise.
