Mary Cathryn Alkire, 81, Indianapolis, died Saturday at Community Hospital East. She was the daughter of Ross and Lacy C (Nichols) Beaman. A machine operator for U.S. Rubber, Indianapolis, she had attended Quincy Methodist Church. She married Eugene Alkire on Jan. 6, 1939. He died July 8, 1940. Surviving are a son, Frederick Alkire and wife Janet, Seattle; a brother, Jack Beaman and wife Bert, Indianapolis; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Edwin Beaman and Robert Beaman.
