Iva Lucille Umburn, 98, of Houston, went to be with her Lord December 30, 2002. She was born June 14, 1904 in Gray Horse, Oklahoma to James B. & Lurania Middlebrooks. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Crum Umburn in 1975 and by one son, Marvin Carl Whitten and one daughter, Velma Gwendolyn Willis. She is survived by one daughter, Maxine Huenerberg of Houston and by numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family met with friends and other family members January 1 with a Celebration of her life held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Carter Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Plunk officiating. She was laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park under the direction of Carter Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Baldridge, James Criswell, Donald Couch, Trey Lamb, Brian Theriot and Jarrod Theriot.
