Funeral services for Nina Kay Eiland, 96, of Blanco, formerly of Bangs, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at the Bangs Church of Christ with Michael Light officiating. Interment will follow in the Bangs Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6 p.m.

Mrs. Eiland passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco.

Nina was born on Oct. 31, 1909, in Bangs to Ben and Estell Byars Garms. She married Oscar Eiland on Oct. 13, 1928, in Bangs. She was a housewife and a longtime and faithful member of the Bangs Church of Christ.

Nina is survived by a son, Bobby Eiland and wife Jo of Blanco; four granddaughters, Gina Powers Barnes of Brownwood, Heather Heatherly Smalley of Bangs, Amy Powers Finch and husband Stephen of Brownwood, and Lisa Eiland Leech and husband Tony of Houston; two grandsons, Kelly Eiland and wife Dee of Blanco and John Heatherly and wife Tina of Fort Worth; nine great-grandchildren, Nina Kay Heatherly Lopez, and Dustin Hankins, Kinsey Barnes, Dillon Heatherly, Victoria Heatherly, Alec Heatherly, Amanda Eiland, Justin Eiland, and Ryan Homesley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Eiland; two daughters, Jenny Lavern Eiland and Linda Kay Eiland; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
