Born Oct. 25, 1941, in Phoebus, Va., she was the daughter of the late Isidore and Kathleen Wikman Earhart and was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Francis Carter; sisters, Louise Foster, Janice Angel; and brothers, Joseph, Robert and Charles Earhart. She was employed at Lipton Tea.
Survivors include her husband, Francis Ivan Carter; son, Cecil Scott Carter of Highpoint, N.C.; sisters, Viola Wood, Isabel O'Keefe and Margaret Mingee, all of Hampton; grandma's miracle, Adam Jacob Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
