Paul joined the Marine Corps on his 17th birthday in January 1942 and served four years in the South and Central Pacific with the 4th and 22nd Marine regiments and aboard the South Dakota Battleship as a Communications Orderly working with Admiral Halsey's and Nimitz Flagship groups during the signing of the peace treaty at Tokyo Bay, Japan.
After the war Paul married Louise Gossett and they had one daughter, Laura.
He worked at various jobs in Idaho and Oregon before going to work for General Telephone Company for 27 years, retiring in 1976. He moved to Idaho in 1977 where he worked for Ada County Assessors and Boise City Public Works. His final position was Idaho Manager for Product Development Corporation (US West Telephone Directories).
In 1982 he married Sidona Dunne.
Survivors include his wife Sidona; one daughter Laura Kastner of Crowley, TX; three step-sons; Dan Dunne, Tim Dunne and Jerry Dunne, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are at Alden Waggoner Funeral Home Sept. 5; Pastor Bruce Young of Boise 1st Baptist Church will officiate. Burial at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
