Leonard Owen Hollier, age 87, passed away peacefully Friday, April 1, 2016 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born March 16, 1929 in Wilson, Arkansas to Bert and Ida Hollier. Ida later met William Smith whom she married. William and Ida moved to California and Leonard followed later. He joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korea Conflict from January 15, 1951 to October 16, 1952 and was honorably discharged on May 20, 1956. The family lived in Firebaugh, CA where his sister, Shirley introduced him to Rosemary Prater. They married on August 12, 1953.

Leonard was preceded in death by his father, Bert Hollier; mother, Ida Smith; father, William Smith; his wife of 59 years, Rosemary Hollier; 2 sisters: Christine & Shirley; brother: Walter Hollier; Son-in-law Ron Perdue; granddaughter, Kali Hollier and great-grandson, Anthony Lynn Hollier.

He is survived by his 4 children: Gwen Perdue, Jan Parris and her husband Raymond, Lynn Hollier and his wife Leanne and Douglas Hollier and his wife Melissa. 1 brother: Billy Smith of Hawthorn NV and sister-in-law: Joyce Fowler of Kerman, CA. He was the grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of 20 and great-great-grandfather of 5. Leonard is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Dr. Sekhon for all of her care and to Gina from Interim from the care she gave to Leonard while he was at home.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera. Interment will follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
