Charles P. Shaw of Galesburg, former Aledo business man, died Saturday afternoon Feb. 10, 1945 in Galesburg Cottage hospital following a stroke suffered Nov. 15, 1944. He was 74 years old.

Mr. Shaw was born in Aledo, Jan. 9, 1871, operated a grocery store for a number of years and was a member of the old Aledo Concert band before moving to California about 20 years ago. He returned to Galesburg in 1943 and made his home there.

He was a member of the Methodist church and the Odd Fellows lodge.

Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Carter of Aledo; two sons, Everett of Macomb and Leslie of Colchester, and a brother, Will of LaJolla, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Davis funeral chapel, Aledo, with Rev. O. D. Drake officiating. Burial was in Aledo cemetery. Charles Nesbitt, Clyde Holmes, Thomas Hartman, David Murphy, John Parkinson and W. S. Butcher were pallbearers.
