Anna was the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Doran, who both were born in Ireland and came to the United States around 1850-1855, initially settling in Washington, DC and later coming to Burlington, Iowa. Anna was the second oldest child; her siblings included Mary Jane, William, Thomas, Alicia, Margaret, Joseph and Teresa. Anna was born in Washington, DC and died in Wappello, Iowa. She is buried next to her husband, Adolph.
