George Howard Konovsky age 84, of DeMotte, IN passed away on April 2, 2016 at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMotte, IN. He was born in DeMotte, IN on July 25, 1931 to Albert and Carrie (Mourer) Konovsky, both deceased.

George was a 1949 graduate of DeMotte High School and attended University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. He was previously married to Joyce Hancock, who precedes him in death. He left the University to help his brother operate Kovovsky’s Lumber Yard and Grain Elevator businesses. The boys inherited the businesses from their father in 1938. He was Past Master for the Masonic Lodge #642 in Wheatfield, where he was recognized for his 60 years of loyal membership in 2015. He was also a volunteer with the Keener Township Fire Department. He loved to ride snowmobiles in his younger days and enjoyed hunting rabbits, ducks and geese.

George is survived by his loving daughters, Kelli (Michael) Hale, DeMotte, IN and
Kay Obst, Bartlett, TN
Grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Hale, Ashley York and Lindsey Punter
3 great grandchildren; Christina, Kaitlyn & Allison York

Preceded in death by his parents, son Martin, brother, John and sister Marge Sekema.
