Grandmother Davis Dies Sunday, July 1

Mrs. Nancy Pauline Davis, age 76, died at her home in Loraine, July 1 1928 , 9:20 pm., after taking critically ill a few days ago. Grandmother had been an invalid for several years.

She was born, January 2, 1852 in Turley's Hill, Tennessee and was married to Thomas Davis on March 19, 1871. She was converted and joined the Methodist Church during her childhood.

She came to Texas with her husband and children in March, 1888, settling in Limestone County. They moved to Winters in October 1900 and to Roscoe in October 1906. She has been living in Loraine since 1912.

Mr. Davis was called home Nov. 4, 1927 and of the eleven children born into this happy home, three preceded their mother into the Great Beyond.

Those left to mourn the passing of their loved one are: Mrs. Lizzie Richardson of Frisco, Texas, Mrs. Ida Eaves of of Whitney, T. T. Davis of Merkel, C. F. Davis of Goldsboro, R. D. Davis of Anna, Mrs. Maude Adams of Winters, Mrs. Minnie Rushing of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mrs. Ollie Faulkenberry of Loraine. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Alice McDaniel of Rutledge, Tennessee and a brother, W. H. LEE of Teague, were present at the funeral.

The many friends of the good woman and her relatives extend their deep sympathy to the bereaved to sustain them in the loss of their loved one.

Parents of Nancy Pauline (Lee) Davis are William Deadrick Lee & Elizabeth Desdemona (Turley) Lee.
