Sarah Daughtry Wife F 41 North Carolina
William Daughtry Son M 16 North Carolina
Cathrine Daughtry Dau F 13 North Carolina
Cullen Daughtry Son M 11 North Carolina
Harvey Daughtry Son M 4 North Carolina,
Buty Daughtry Dau F 4 mos North Carolina
"Buty" is "Pennie". Cullen is a farmer. Sarah is his 2nd wife. William is probably his son with his first wife, also named Sallie. At this time, William is noted has having the measles. Cullen is a farmer.
NOTE: The above 1880 census is in conflict with another 1880 census for the same area for Sarah Heath Wood, possible mother for Pennie. Sarah Heath Wood eventually marries Cullen W. Daugherty. The people listed under "Parents" above were taken from Penny's DC. Working on straightening this out. However, it appears that Pennie's mother may have been Sally Avery. The DC informant may have confused the 2 Sarah/Sallies. Cullen W. Daugherty didn't marry Sarah "Lizzie" Heath Wood until 1894.
Pennie, 60 yrs, a widow, resides in Twp 3, Craven Co., NC in 1940, beside her son & his wife, Edward & Gladys, and her daughter Sadie Civils & her husband Guy and their children. All parties lived in their same homes in 1935. Edward & Guy are farmers.
Notes: Either brother or half-brother Cullen Thomas Daugherty, b. 23 Oct 1870, Craven Co., NC; m. Bernice; d. 29 Aug 1948, Kinston, Lenoir Co., NC. At the time of his passing, he was married to Bernice, a retired contractor & resided in Wintergreen, Craven Co., NC. His parents are listed as Cullen Daugherty & Sallie Avery.
