Doris Adams Thornton, 82, of Danville, died April 1, 2016 at Danville Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 8, 1933, in Java, daughter of Harry Adams and Mary Burnett Adams. She retired from C&P Telephone Company and then was a desk clerk at the Inn Keeper West. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Monica Adkins (Ben); two granddaughters; two great granddaughters; sister, Christine Holland; a brother, William Adams. She was also predeceased by a son, John Peyton Thornton; four brothers, Patton Adams, Ben Adams, Edsel Adams, and Frank Adams; and a sister, Elizabeth Kruger.
Burial will be in Highland Burial Park.
