JESS P. SKAGGS

Jess P. Skaggs, 54-year-old Commerce miner, died Monday afternoon in the state hospital at Talihina where he had been a patient for the past two years. He had lived here and in surrounding communities since 1918.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nina Skaggs, of the home; three sons,, George Skaggs, Claremore; Gene Skaggs, Baxter Springs Route 3, and Leory Golden, with the Air Force in Colorado; a daughter, Mrs. Norma Lee Pinell of New Bedford, Mass.; three brothers, John Skaggs, Alamogordo, N.M.; Tom Skaggs, Chetopa, Kan., and Reuben Skaggs, Elvins, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Stone, Palo Alto, Calif., and Mrs. Agnes Hardaway, Centerville, Mo., six grandchildren.

Skaggs was a member of the Free Will Baptist church in Picher.

Arrangements for final rites will be announced by the Hunter mortuary of Picher.

Funeral services for Jess P. Skaggs, a resident of this area since 1918, will be conducted at the Hunter chapel in Picher at 2 p. m. Thursday. The Rev. Henry Ford will officiate. Pallbearers will be Clarence Bachman, Clyde Bachman and Claud Bachman and Wayne Wilson, Ersie Wilson and Jess Wilson. Burial will be Jul 19, 1956, in G.A.R. cemetery in Miami.
