Ora R. Blew, 94, of rural Uniondale, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016. He was born on July 27, 1921, a son of the late Claude and Tina Belle (Brookins) Blew. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a welder at Fruehauf and Honeywell. He later worked at Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penny as head of maintenance. Surviving family include his children, Judith (Robert) Ramey, Donna Hammel, Gary (Kathy) Blew, Michael Blew, Gwendolyn Blew Rice; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and niece, Nancy Byrd of Huntington. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Elizabeth J. "Betty" Blew; great granddaughter, Morgan Hope Ramey; siblings, Golda Long and Hugeen "Bub" Blew; son-in-law, Douglas Hammel; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Uniondale.
