TWIN FALLS | Maria Micaela Aspeytia, 84, Twin Falls, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at St Luke's Hospital.

She was born on May 8, 1931 in Weatherford, Texas, to Vicente and Elena Aspeytia.

Micaela, as most of her family and friends knew her, first arrived in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1956 to work as a seasonal migrant worker. She worked alongside her brothers, Juan and Manuel in agriculture for many years. She went to work at Troy National Linen for several years; then moved onto Idaho Frozen Foods, working 18 years there before retiring in 1993. She started working at working at a young age to help support her parents and siblings throughout the years. She has always been there with advice, teachings and love for all of her family.

Immediate family consists of her children: Raul Aspeytia, Berta (Miles) Buckingham. Grandchildren: Levi (Janell) Aspeytia, Noemi (Andy) Hillier, Jamie Buckingham, Rachael Lee. Great-Grandson: Decklin J. Hillier. She is also survived by one sister, Maria del Refugio Aspeytia Torres, one brother, Ismael Aspeytia, both of Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.

She loved to cook, crochet, garden and take care of her roses. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson. She at times would tell them secretly that they were each her favorite, but they all knew who really was the favorite. They were her life and she cherished the time spent with them.

Micaela was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and best friend. She was a caring woman to all who knew her. She was always happy to spend time reminiscing about the past with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

A very special thank you to Dr. Peter and Dee Dee Doble, all those nieces and nephews and friends, who have given so much support in this time of need and deeply cared for her.
