Curtis Eugene Hathcock, 85, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday, march 30, 2016 in Stanly Regional Medical Center. His memorial service will be 4 PM Saturday, April 2 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Little officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 until 3:30 prior to the service.

Born September 5, 1930 in Stanly County, NC he was the son of the late Noah Webster Hathcock and Clora Helms Hathcock and was a retired tile setter and former employee of Cannon Mills. He attended Silver Springs Baptist Church. He loved his rabbit dogs and is survived by his 5 furry friends.

Mr. Hathcock is survived by his wife Edith Lambert Hathcock of the home, son Eddie Gene Hathcock and wife Ruth of Midland, sister Kathy Lynn Clontz and husband Dale of Fairview, sister Peggy Furr of Oakboro, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A son Capt. Kerry Hathcock preceded him in death in 2010.

The family requests that memorials be made to Silver Springs Baptist Church, 16072 NC Hwy 138 Hwy, Norwood, NC 28128.
