Alfred Allen Ackles, 80, of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the VA Medical Center. Born February 14, 1936 in Monongahela, PA he was the son of the late Hurshel Howard Ackles, Sr. and Mary Alice Claytor Ackles. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He is survived by three sisters, Lillian Ackles Owen and the late Louis Owen, Rosie Ackles Kemp and husband, William, and Cora A. Ackles McDonald and husband, Richard; three brothers, Hurshel Howard Ackles, Jr. and wife, Joann, Carl Ackles and wife, Betty, and George E. Ackles and wife, Eunice; and a host of nieces and nephews. Also survived by his extended family in New Jersey, four sisters-in-law and six brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Toshi Coo Ackles; and second wife, Peggy Ann Conover Ackles. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Elder John Price officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, in the Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg, NJ.
