MRS. JESS SHUMATE
(1904-1967)
Vanceburg, Ky. - Mrs. Emma Shumate, 63, of Vanceburg, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday at Mercy Hospital.
A native of Greenup County, she was a member of the Christian Baptist Church at Vanceburg.
Mrs. Shumate is survived by her husband, Jess Shumate; a stepson, Robert of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Bates of Detroit, Mich.; six brothers, Homer Bush of Vandalia, Ohio, Cubert of Springfield, Ohio, Ellis of Lloyd, Dennis of Load, William of Flatwoods and Duard of Garrison; and 11 grandchildren.
Services are to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Plummer Funeral Home with burial in Black Oak Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 tonight.
