Cresencio "Chris" Griego, age 83, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
Chris was a veteran of the Korean War and worked as a barber at the Veterans Hospital for many years until he retired in 2005.
Cresensio was married to his wife for over 52 years and was admired for his devotion, love, and sacrifice for her through many years that she suffered with Parkinson’s disease. Cresencio was also truly devoted to his family and faith and enjoyed volunteering at the Veterans Hospital and the Good Shepherd Shelter. Cresencio will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Crsencio will forever be a hero to his family!
Cresencio was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, daughter, Christine Benavidez, parents, Santiago and Beatriz Griego and brothers, Andres Griego Pat Griego and Johnny Griego.
Cresencio is survived by his daughters, Edwina Abreu (Alfred) and Rose Sandoval (Joseph), grandchildren, Danielle Sifuentes (Juan), Justeen, Alexondria Benavidez, Janelle, Alfred Jr., Brittany Abreu and Nicholas Sandoval, great-grandchild, Blue Sifuentes, brothers and sisters, Jimmy Griego, Pete Griego, Bennie Zamora, Luga Gonzales and Esther Baca and numerous family and friends.
Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, located at 5303 Phoenix Ave. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
