ESSEX JUNCTION, VT. - Ruth (Beatty) Cousino, age 52, of Essex Junction, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25th 2016.

Ruth was born on December 21st 1963, to John and Teresa Beatty in Burlington, Vt.

She married the love of her life, David Cousino, on June 25th 1988. Together they raising two sons.

She attended Mater Christi School, graduated from South Burlington High School in 1982 where she excelled in and was captain of her field hockey and basketball teams.

She continued on to further her education at Champlain College.

Over the last three decades, she cultivated her career in the dental field.

For the last 25 years she worked as a sales representative for Patterson Dental.

Over the years she earned many accolades and awards in her field and was loved and respected by everyone she served.

More than anything else, Ruth enjoyed spending time on the boat with family and friends and enjoyed many sunsets on Lake Champlain. Although she loved to ski, she would more likely be found sitting in front of the wood stove at the family chalet in Jay. No matter what the sport, she was a most enthusiastic fan of her sons' sports teams.

She was Booster Club President at Rice High School and served on numerous Mater Christi School and Rice High School committees.

She especially enjoyed being a coach for Rice High School's annual Stunt Night.

She enjoyed serving meals to those in need on Thanksgiving Day at Sweetwaters, volunteered at the Vermont City Marathon, served meals at the Food Shelf and participated in numerous other fundraising activities for those in need.

She was a strong supporter of the Vermont Technical College Department of Dental Hygiene and the Vermont Dental Hygienists' Association.

She taught and was a supporter of the Dental Assisting Program at the Center for Technology at Essex High School.

Ruth's deeply-rooted Catholic faith was the guiding force in her life, the source of her hopefulness, positivity and great love for others.

She served as a Eucharistic Minister at her parish of St. Pius X.

Ruth was predeceased by her mother, Teresa Beatty, mother-in-law, Janice Cousino, special aunt, Barbara Hanlon, and brother-in-law Kenneth Pidgeon Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 2nd 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at her childhood parish of St. John Vianney Church, South Burlington, VT.
