Edward E. Bowen, 80, of New Carlisle, IN, died Saturday, March 26, 2016, in his home. He was born July 10, 1935, in Chicago to John and Emily (Kretsch) Bowen.

Edward retired as a sub-foreman from Chicago Sewers Department and previously worked at Cuneo Press, also in Chicago. He was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, served on committees with the parish, was a member of Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, volunteered at Sharing Meadows, and served on the Hudson Lake Township Board.

On Sept. 10, 1954, Edward married Mary Ann Boyd, who preceded him in death March 20, 2012.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathleen; sons, Dan and Tim; and brothers, Charles and John Bowen.

He leaves behind two daughters, Pat (Ken) Markham of Glenview, IL, and Jill (Bob) McAllister of Bloomingdale, IL; four sons, Ed Bowen of Chicago, Jack (Kathy) Bowen of Des Plaines, IL, Bill (Colleen) Bowen of Chesterton, IN, and Mike (Nancy) Bowen of LaPorte; daughter-in-law, Liz Bowen of Las Vegas, NV; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas of Chicago; sister-in-law, Jean Bowen of Springfield, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
