Ardys was born on May 19, 1934, in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur and Cora (Wiegmann) McLane. She attended elementary school in Raymond where she grew up.
On March 3, 1951, Ardys was united in marriage to Dwayne "Bud" Blokzyl in Raymond. Following their marriage they lived in Willmar where she worked as a waitress, at Willmar Poultry Company and the Christian Nursing Home, before retiring in 1988. Bud preceded her in death on February 24, 1987.
On August 7, 1993, Ardys was united in marriage to Edward Milner at Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Following their marriage they moved to a home in Spicer. She was an active auxiliary member of the VFW and Eagles, as well as a member of the Elks and DOES.
Ardys was baptized and confirmed in Raymond and was a member of Church of St. Mary in Willmar where she ushered and volunteered in the kitchen with funerals.
She was an ambitious, hardworking person, who stood her ground but was also a lady full of personality and was always willing to have a good time. Her home was always open to others with a hearty meal (enough for an army) to be enjoyed.
Surviving are her husband, Ed of Spicer; children: Roger (and Robin) Blokzyl of Spicer, Darwin Blokzyl of Kerkhoven, Bryan (and Sabrina) Blokzyl of Spicer, Darla (and Joe) Shimota of Willmar, Sheila Johnson of Marco Island, FL, Jerry (and Sheila) Blokzyl of Raymond, and Sherri Menk and fiancé Duane Slaughter of Willmar; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her step-children, Michael of Chicago; Kathy (and Kathleen) of Minneapolis and Joe (and Kristjan) of Minneapolis and a step grandson. Also surviving are her sisters: Sherrill (and Randy) Taatjes of Prior Lake and LaVonne Kittelson of Willmar; sister-in-law, Kay McLane of Willmar; and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Besides her first husband, Dwayne "Bud" and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin, brother, Marlan McLane, great grandson, Cayden Lee Blokzyl, son-in-law, David Johnson and brother-in-law, Dale Kittelson and step-grandson, Greg.
