Jeff Jones, 76, of near Malakoff, died Saturday morning at his home following an illness with flu lasting several days.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church at Malakoff, conducted by Rev. S.D. Salyer with burial following at Oak Grove cemetery.
Deceased was born in Texas and had been a resident of the state all his life. On January 18, 1885, he was married to Miss Linnie Stringer, who, with six children, survive him. Two children preceded him in death.
Surviving children are three sons, Calvin Jones of Palestine and Seth and Albert Jones of Malakoff and three daughters, Mrs. J.C. Parker of Kerens, Mrs. W.G. Miller of Palestine and Mrs. W.T. DeLay of Mangum, Texas.
Thirty-three grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive.
