He was born June 22, 1924 in Anderson, Indiana, and was a lifelong Anderson resident.
Eddie was a 1942 graduate of Anderson High School. He served his country in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater.
Eddie retired from McDonald's Furniture after 30 years in sales.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Anderson, Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and the VFW Post #266. He was an avid gardener and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years whom he married July 14, 1946, Norma Jean (Haynes) Rockwell; two sons, David Charles (Jerri) Rockwell and James Edward (Raphaela) Rockwell both of Anderson; a daughter, Rebecca Jo Wimmer of Anderson; six grandchildren, Jason (Jen) Rockwell, Jennifer (Shane) Haston, Scott Rockwell, Amanda Rockwell, Ryan (Tina) Wimmer and Elizabeth Wimmer; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, John & Penny Bixler and Bill & ZoEllen Clay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Rockwell and Mary (Swinford) Goul.
