Clyde Gardner Sr., 83, of Louin, MS passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his residence in Louin, MS. He was born Saturday, April 6, 1940 in Marion, North Carolina.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Montrose Baptist Church in Louin, MS . Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. The burial will then take place in Montrose Cemetery. Bro. Dwayne Windham and Bro. Brody McCool will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181
Clyde loved his country and retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class. He served two tours in Vietnam and received several commendations for his service. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Clyde loved spending time with his family. He was a follower of Christ and a member of Montrose Baptist Church. Clyde was greatly loved and will dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Dianne Gardner; daughter, Donna Marie Shelton; father, Hartsell Gardner; mother, Rellie Fender Peek; brother, Donald Gardner; sisters, Irene Clements and Marie Cody; and one granddaughter, Meagan Ann Gardner.
Survivors include his sons, Clyde Gardner, Jr. (Shelly) and Philip Gardner (Sharon); daughters, June Elaine Shelton (Phil), Michelle Lunsford (Boyce) and Alicia Easterling (Robbie) and Katie Gardner; brother, Gordon Peek; sisters, Lora Honeycutt, and Patricia Wallin; Seventeen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Gardner, Farrel Gardner, David Shelton, Jesse Shelton, Blake Easterling Brett Easterling, Colton Gardner and Cason Easterling.
