Obituary, the Oklahoman:
"DEERINWATER Edward R. age 59 of Moore, passed away Sunday after a sudden illness. He was born April 24, 1924 at Braggs, OK. He moved to McAlester and was employed at the Okla. State Penitentiary, and then to Granite, OK. Was a member of Granite Masonic Lodge. He moved back to McAlester and was employed at the Naval Ammunition Depot until 1981, when he moved to Moore and was employed at Tinker AFB. Member of the First Baptist Church at McAlester, and was to retire from federal service in July with 19 years of service. He was on active duty in Korea with the US Army and since then, had been active for 38 years with the 45th Division of the Okla. National Guard and would have retired in April as a Major. He was also a member of the McAlester American Legion Post No. 79. Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Emmitt and Lloyd Deerinwater, and a son, Bruce Deerinwater, who was killed in active duty in Vietnam in 1969. He was married to Rowena Vowell on July 15, 1983 in Gainesville, TX. Survived by his wife, Rowena of the home;

1 son, George Deerinwater of Albuquerque, NM; 2 brothers, Al of Tulsa, and Darrell of Derby, KS; 2 sisters, Thelma of Wichita and Maggie of Riverside, CA; 3 grandsons, Jeffry and Ryan of Albuquerque, and Bruce Deerinwater II of McAlester; 2 step-sons, David and Patrick Vowell of Moore. Services will be 2pm Wednesday at Hunter Memory Chapel. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery with full Military Honors."
