In a copy of an article about his son Henry who was a "well known citizen and retired farmer of Blooming Grove Township" it is mentioned that William and Rebecca traveled from Maryland to Indiana in a cart, with two young children, driven by one horse. Upon arrival in Indiana, he worked as a logging team driver for two years before renting first one farm, then a larger one which he farmed extensively until his death in August of 1859."
