Son of Benjamin Bearce and Lydia (Bisbee) Bearce. At 15 years old Benjamin enlisted in the Massachusetts Militia of the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War under General George Washington, Colonel Nathan Spearhawk and Captain Job Crocker.
