Maxine Jewell Dixon, 62, daughter of John Newton Wilson and Eva Irene Alms Wilson, was born March 30, 1931, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She died April 2, 1993, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia following a long illness.

She was a life long resident of Houston and graduated from Houston High School in 1950. For many years she worked at the Lee Co.

She married Troy Dixon October 11, 1975, and they lived at Raymondville. She was a member of the Big Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and one son, William John Lane.

Surviving are her husband, Troy, of the home; one daughter, Linda Gail Medlock of Houston; her mother, Eva Wilson of Houston; three brothers, Junior Wilson and Bruce Wilson of Houston and Sam Wilson of Atwater, Calif.; four grandchildren; three stepdaughters, two stepsons, and 12 step-grandchildren.

Services were April 5 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kendall Ford officiating. Burial was in the Big Creek Cemetery.
