w/o James J Stewart, MDHelene (or Helen) Kathleen Boyd was a daughter of Professor John Alexander Boyd, Sr. and his wife Mary Elizabeth "Mamie" Parks, of Fort Mill, York County, South Carolina. I am uncertain if she was born in 1890 or 1891.

From Charlotte News, Charlotte, NC, Tuesday, April 30, 1907, p. 5
"Miss Boyd to Wed Dr.. Stewart.
Announcement was made today of the approaching marriage of Miss Helene Kathleen Boyd, of Fort Mill, S. C, to Dr. James Jackson Stewart, of Mount Holly, the wedding to be celebrated on the evening of Tuesday, the 14th of May. This announcement will be of interest to a wide circle of friends in this city and surrounding country. Miss Boyd is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander Boyd. She is a young lady of accomplishments and is admired by a host of friends. Dr. Stewart is known here as a former student of the North Carolina Medical College. Upon graduation from that institution he located at Fort Mill where he enjoyed a large practice. Later he moved to Mount Holly. The invitations which were received here today read as follows: Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander Boyd invite you to be present at the marriage of their daughter Helene Kathleen to Dr. James Jackson Stewart on the evening of Tuesday the fourteenth of May nineteen hundred and seven at six o'clock at home Fort Mill, South Carolina."

Apparently Dr. and Mrs. Stewart lived at Mount Holly from their marriage until around 1910/11, when they moved to Newton, Catawba County, NC. Sometime between 1916 and 1920, they moved back to Mount Holly, where Dr. Stewart died in 1936.

Dr. and Mrs. Stewart had three children:

Elizabeth Reid "Beth" Stewart (1 Feb. 1909-15 July 2001) Mrs. William Allen Durant, bur. Pineview Cemetery, Mt. Holly, Gaston Co., Find A Grave # 137951193

Lt. Col. James Jackson "Jack" Stewart, Jr. (3 August 1911-3 Oct. 1970) Bur. Raleigh National Cemetery, Find A Grave # 3276386

Mary Parks Stewart (4 June 1916-29 Jan. 2004) Mrs. Lesslie Burial place unknown.

Many thanks to Find A Grave contributor TMcManaway (47226355) for the gravestone photograph and letting me know where she is buried.
