Mr. Dooley was born on April 6, 1930 in Elkhart to the late Floyd and Maude (Marks) Dooley. On August 17, 1952 in Elkhart he married Vivian A. Young and she preceded him in death on July 27, 1988.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a key maker for Adams and Westlake in Elkhart for many years and had been retired for 23 years. He loved playing bingo and was a lifetime member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge and a member of the Elkhart VFW.
He is survived by his children; Timothy (Pam) Dooley of Elkhart, Penelope Chesser of Elkhart, Charles Hillard of Anderson, Michaeline (Mike) Butler of Elkhart, Lisa Ward of Elkhart, Dennis (Evelyn) VanAlstine of Elkhart; also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; one son, Patrick Dooley and five brothers and sisters.
