MRS. VIRGIL BANDY

Ella Cleo Palstring Bandy, daughter of the late William and Sarah Palstring, was born in Mumboltd, Kansas, March 18, 1904 and died January 21, 1975 at the Texas County Memoria Hospital in Houston.

At an early age she moved with her parents to Tyrone and spent the remainder of her life in the Tyrone and Yukon communities.

On August 19, 1933 she was united in marriage to Virgil Bandy.

She is survived by her husband, one brother, Carl Palstring of Fontana, Cal.

She was preceded in death by a twin brother Clarence and a sister Ethel Archer.

She was a member Of the Free Will Baptist Church at Big Creek where she remained an active member serving as church clerk, pianist and primary Sunday School teacher as long as her health permitted.

She was graduated from Houston High School in the class of 1925 and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southwest Missouri State, Springfield. During her career she was a member of Missouri Teachers
association, Community Teachers Association, Parent Teachers Association and American Association of University Women. She taught 33 terms of school in Texas County and at the time of her retirement in 1965 was a third grade teacher in the Houston Elementary School. Recently she became a member of the Retired Teachers of Texas County.

Funeral services were held Saturday January 25 at 2 p.m. at the Big Creek Church, the Rev. Fred Wynn and the Rev. Warren Hutsell officiating.

Burial was in the Big Creek cemetery, under the direction of the Evans-Elliott Funeral Home.
