Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial for A. J. Thibodeaux, Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Leo the Great Cemetery. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Domingue will celebrate the Mass.

A.J. was a resident of Pecaniere. He passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 78. He was a Veteran who proudly served his country in the Air Force. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include one son, A. J. Thibodeaux, Jr. and wife, Julie of Pecaniere; and one daughter, Belinda LeJeune and husband, Tracy of Port Barre; brother, Horace Thibodeaux and wife, Eva Mae of Melville; sister, Helen Bertrand of Kinder; and three grandchildren, Crystal LeJeune and wife, Fallon; Kenneth LeJeune, and Adam Thibodeaux.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lanclos Thibodeaux; parents, Ozama Thibodeaux, Sr. and Ledia Soileau Thibodeaux; brother, Ozama Thibodeaux, Jr.; and sisters, Hazel Lalonde; and Patricia LaCalle.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
