Jessie "Miss Jessie" Aberner-Vaughn
(April 9, 1935 - March 10, 2016)

Jessie was born in Columbus, GA, to the late Deacon Doc & Fannie Moody. She was married Joseph Vaughn, Sr. in 1949 and in their first year of marriage, their first child, Joseph Vaughn, Jr. was born. Their daughter, Patricia Vaughn was born in 1951 and third child, William Vaughn in 1953. Jessie was a housewife and mother for many years, moving from Georgia to Fort Myers, FL and then north to Boston, MA in 1955. There, they settle until 1965, and parted separate ways at that time.

Jessie and her children moved to St. Petersburg, FL and there, she began her career as nursing assistant. In 1967, Jessie re-married, Rufus Seay, and they continued to reside in St. Petersburg. Jessie continued her career as a nursing assistant and retired in 1997 from collage Harbor Assisted Living. Rufus died in 2002. In the year 2003, Jessie moved to Fort Pierce, FL to be close to her daughter Patricia, who had been married over 40 years to Danny Nealy, a native of the Treasure Coast.

Her son, Joseph who recently died on Jan. 14, 2016 also moved to Fort Pierce, FL to join his mother and sisters family. William her son was the last to follow in August, 2012. Jessie even though retired, continued to work as a grandmother at Garden City Elementary, After School Program. She was also offered the job to run the store at Buell Brown Senior Living Facility and past-time watching sports, western and reading. Which she worked until her health declined. She resided at Hospice of St Lucie County until her passing on March 10, 2016 at 11:02 am. She proceeded in death also by her sister, Katie Mathis.

She will always be cherished in the hearts of her Husband; Joseph Vaughn of Dorchester, MA; Sons: William C. Vaughn of Ft. Pierce, FL, Darryl Vaughn, Mark Vaughn and Jason Vaughn all of Boston, VA; Daughters: Patricia Nealy of Ft. Pierce, FL and Kimberly Reese of Brockton, MA; grandchildren-19 and 16-Great Grandchildren and a Host of great-great-grandchildren; Best-friends: Eula Outlet of Tampa, FL, Gerrie Williams of St. Petersburg, FL and Helen Paige of Ft. Pierce, FL.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016, 3pm-7pm at Sarah's Memorial Chapel. A Home Going service will be conducted on Saturday, March 26, 2016, 11am at Parkview Baptist Church, 403 Haynes Road, Fort Pierce, FL.
