He married twice, although very little is known of the first marriage. His first wife has been tentatively identified as Adella Sterns and they had one son, Frank Harold Dunham (1873 - 1936), born in Gorham, New Hampshire, who moved to California early in life, married twice and died there.
George married 2) Elsie J. Messer. They lived in many places, including Portland, ME, Virginia, and near Biddeford, ME. They had no children.

GEORGE H. DUNHAM
West Paris, Sept. 26 - George H. Dunham died Thursday {September 25} about 3 A.M. at the home of his sister, Mrs. Martha Dunham. Mr. Dunham had been afflicted with Bright's Disease for eight years and had suffered much with dropsy. He returned from Biddeford Hospital a few weeks ago where he had been for treatment. He was the son of James and Sally (Houghton) Dunham and was born in North Paris April 27, 1851. Of this large family of children to which he belonged only one sister, Mrs. Martha Dunham, survives.
Mr. Dunham was twice married. His first wife died many years ago leaving one son, Frank, who lives in California. His second wife was Elsie Messer of Waterville, whose death occurred at Scarboro [Biddeford] where they resided. Mr. Dunham was a machinist and worked in Waterville for many years. In religion, he attended Universalist. He was a member of the Odd Fellows. He was respected and well-liked.
