GALLUP — Funeral Mass for Rose B. Chavez, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Chavez died Sept. 27 in Albuquerque. She was born April 16, 1914 in the McGaffey area.
Chavez graduated from Cathedral High School. Her and her late husband were the owners of F and R market in Gallup.
Survivors include sons, Robert Chavez and Donald Chavez both of Gallup; daughters, Lorraine Gruda of Gallup and Barbara Chavez of McKinleyville, Calif.; sister, Pat Pedigrew of San Diego, Calif.; ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Chavez was preceded in death by husband, Fermin Chavez; parents, Benito Baca and Luciana Castillo Baca.
