A graveyard service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday at Lindsay Cemetery for Agnes Clearman, 79, who died Thursday in a Visalia hospital following a long illness. The Rev. James Lynn and the Rev. Robert Keller will officiate.

Mrs. Clearman was born in Lindsay and was a long-time resident of Lindsay and Porterville. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Clearman graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 1932 with a degree in English. She graduated from Lindsay High School in 1928 and attended Fresno State for two years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Porterville and the Sierra View Hospital League.

She was a life member of P.T.A.. She was a member of Chapter FU of PEO and Inter SeClub. She was a life member of American Association of University Women.

Survivors include her husband, Lee H. Clearman of Porterville; one son, John Clearman of Fremont; one daughter, Edith Jessup of Sanford, Maine; one brother, Jay Webb of Soquel; one sister, Gyneth Meyer of Lebanon, Ohio; three grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, PEO scholarship fund or Porterville First United Methodist Church memorial fund. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Webb Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
