Obituary
Robert Henry Mitchell, youngest son of Myrtle and Edwin Mitchell was born September 16, 1906 at Enid OK and departed from this life April 28, 1944 at the age of 37 years 7 months and 12 days.
His parents moved with their children from Oklahoma in 1911, and settled near Lamoni, where Robert grew to manhood.
In December 1930 he was united in marriage to Opal Vivian Early of Lamoni. To this union two children were born, Nelma Irene of the home, and Alice Lorraine, who died in infancy.
Since moving to Marshalltown, in 1936 he has been engaged in farming until the past two years has changed his occupation to working in the Sand Pit. On November 27, 1943, he was injured at his work, receiving a broken back. He has been a patient in a hospital since that time and all that skilled and loving hands could do was done to ease his suffering. He was kind and patient to all who cared for him and never lost his hope of complete recovery.
He leaves to mourn his departure his devoted companion and daughter; two brothers, Ted of Lamoni and Roy of Marshalltown; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Newton, Gillette WY and Mrs. Ethyle George of Kellerton, many nieces and nephews, together with a host of true and loyal friends.
