George B. Headlee, 85, of Excelsior Springs, died Friday at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born Aug. 8, 1874 in Centerville, Iowa, a son of Robert Headlee and Mary Atwell Headlee.
He was a retired farmer, and had lived in Ray and Clay counties for 51 years.
He was a member of the Church of Christ of Excelsior Springs.
He was married to Minnie Ann Dewey of St. Joseph on March 21, 1907, who survives.
He is also survived by one son, Oscar Headlee of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and one daughter, Mrs. Ralph McGinnis of Rayville, Mo.; three grandsons; and six great-granddaughters.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Church of Christ in Excelsior Springs, with Rev. Jim Titus officiating. Burial was in the Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Prichard Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs.
